We design chips, boards and firmware for teams building hardware.

Syprion Labs is an engineering studio in Lagos. We take analog and digital blocks from spec to GDS on open PDKs, get embedded prototypes working, and build models that answer design questions before you spend money on silicon.

You get a fixed price up front, and you talk to the engineer doing the work.

Scoping calls are 30 minutes and cost $50, credited to your project if you go ahead.

Who comes to us

  • Hardware startupsYou have a prototype, or just an idea, and need firmware and a board that hold up in front of pilot customers.
  • University and research groupsYou’re taping out on a shuttle run, need a block verified, or need a model for a paper or a grant.
  • Product and engineering teamsYour team is stretched, a board is misbehaving, or you need an answer before you commit to a design.

What you walk away with

Files you own, and the proof that they work.

Source files you own
Schematics, layout and GDS, RTL, firmware or model files, in a repository you control.
The evidence
Simulation reports across corners, coverage reports or bench test logs, so you can check every claim.
A design note
Why each choice was made, written so another engineer can pick the work up.
A walkthrough
A call with your team to go through the results and answer questions.

How a project runs

The same five steps every time, so you always know what happens next and what it costs.

  1. Scoping call

A 30-minute video call with the engineer who leads the work.

  2. Quote

Scope, fixed price and dates in writing, usually within two working days.

  3. Agreement

A one-page agreement and a 50% deposit, then work starts.

  4. Design and verify

Weekly updates with simulation results, waveforms or test logs.

  5. Handoff

Source files, documentation and a walkthrough for your team.

Typical project sizes

Typical length and cost, so you know the scale before you book a call.

These aren’t quotes. Your fixed price comes in writing after the scoping call. Parts, PCB fabrication and shuttle fees are billed at cost.

New website, now with published pricing

Every service on our capabilities page now shows an indicative budget range and a typical timeline, so you can gauge the size of a project before we speak. Final quotes depend on scope and are confirmed in writing after a short discovery call. If you would rather describe your project in writing, the contact page now has a short enquiry form. Going forward, this log is where we will post shorter updates on chip progress, open-source releases and lessons from our work.

Kelvin Olonade, founder and principal engineer of Syprion Labs

The engineer on your call leads the work

Syprion Labs is led by Kelvin Olonade, founder and principal engineer. He scopes every project, leads the design and stays your contact to the end.

  • Industry experience in embedded systems and in deploying edge AI on hardware accelerators
  • Zero to ASIC certified, designing on SKY130, GF180MCU and IHP SG13

On larger projects or tight deadlines, engineers from our network take on parts of the work. They sign the same NDA and IP terms, and Kelvin reviews everything before it reaches you.

I read every enquiry myself. If what you need isn’t something we do well, I’ll tell you on the call, and where I can, point you to someone who does.

Questions

The short answers. Anything else, ask on the scoping call.

Who owns the work?

You do. Once the final invoice is paid, the designs, layouts, source code and reports are yours. We keep our general tools, scripts and know-how, and we never reuse your design or share your details on other work.

How does the NDA work?

Send us yours, or we’ll send our one-page mutual NDA. It’s signed before you share any confidential files, and we agree how files are exchanged, for example through a shared folder you control.

How do payments work?

Most projects are 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Projects longer than about six weeks are split into milestones, each paid when you accept its deliverable. We invoice in US dollars, or in naira for clients in Nigeria.

What if the scope changes?

The quote lists exactly what’s included. If you need something outside it, we write up the change with its cost and its effect on the dates, and we only start it once you approve. Small clarifications along the way are part of the job.

How long does a project take?

Reviews and debugging usually take one to two weeks, prototypes and verification sprints three to eight, and a full analog block six to twelve. Your quote gives dates, and weekly updates show where things stand.

Do you work with clients outside Nigeria?

Yes. Most work is remote. Hardware is shipped or handed over in Lagos, and we agree how during scoping. We’re on West Africa Time (UTC+1), which overlaps with European working hours and US mornings.

Can students hire you?

For learning, yes: mentoring, workshops and code review. We don’t do graded assignments, projects or theses on a student’s behalf.

Start with a scoping call

Tell us what you’re building and where it’s stuck.

A 30-minute video call with the engineer who leads the work. It costs $50, which comes off the project price if you go ahead. Afterwards you get a written scope and a fixed price. Or email hello@syprion.com.
