Mixed-signal IC design on open PDKs
We design analog and mixed-signal blocks on open process design kits, from specification to post-layout simulation, and review designs before tape-out.
What we work on
- Oscillators, charge pumps and loop filters, sensor interfaces, and data-converter sub-blocks.
Processes and tools
- SkyWater SKY130
- GF180MCU
- IHP SG13CMOS5L
- ngspice
- KLayout
- Magic
- LibreLane
Each project has a fixed price, quoted in writing after the scoping call. Typical ranges are below.
How a block gets built
Specification
Targets, corners and the interface agreed in writing.
Schematic and simulation
Simulated across process, voltage and temperature corners, plus Monte Carlo.
Layout
Device matching and routing drawn to the process design rules.
Physical verification
DRC and LVS clean.
Post-layout simulation
Parasitics extracted and the corners run again.
Handoff
GDS, schematics, simulation reports and a design note.
Ways to work with us
Mixed-signal block design
A block from specification to post-layout simulation on an open PDK.
You get: schematics, layout and GDS, simulation reports, and a design note explaining the choices.
Typical length 6 to 12 weeksTypical price $3,000 to $12,000
Tape-out readiness review
An independent check before submission: DRC and LVS status, extraction, corner and Monte Carlo coverage, power and pin integration, and the precheck rules.
You get: a written report with issues ranked by risk, and a call to walk through it.
Typical length 1 to 2 weeksTypical price $1,000 to $3,000
Questions
Which processes do you design on?
SkyWater SKY130, GF180MCU and IHP SG13CMOS5L, all open PDKs. Commercial processes are possible only where you can give us PDK access under your own agreement with the foundry.
Can you take a block all the way to GDS?
Yes. From schematic through DRC- and LVS-clean layout to post-layout simulation, with the GDS and reports handed over.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. Please don’t send confidential schematics or layouts until one is signed.
Start with a scoping call
Tell us what you’re building and where it’s stuck.
A 30-minute video call with the engineer who leads the work. It costs $50, which comes off the project price if you go ahead. Afterwards you get a written scope and a fixed price. Or email hello@syprion.com.
